Our FetHead Germanium utilizes tried and true FET technology combined with a hand selected “New Old Stock” Germanium transistor to deliver 29dB's of germanium flavored boost. Germanium Flavor Germanium transistors were widely used in earliest transistor designs by Neve, EMI, Telefunken, and Fairchild, and have developed a reputation for a decidedly vintage mojo that remains sought after today. We created a novel hybrid circuit that consists of low noise JFETs and a hand-selected ‘new old stock’ germanium transistor to take full advantage of the "Germanium" sound and at the same time achieve the same sonic quality we are known for. A low impedance output buffer provides output drive to long cables. Operation Your Fethead Germanium will latch straight onto any XLR equipped microphone, or anywhere else in the signal path between microphone and preamp/mixer. The electronics are housed in a robust metal chassis with a balanced female XLR input and a balanced male XLR output, rugged enough for use at home, in the studio or on tour. What is a Condenser Mic?
Condenser microphones are the ideal choice for capturing vocals and acoustic instruments. They’re the primary type of microphone used in recording studios and radio stations. Behringer C-1 mics are capable of capturing much more detail than most dynamic microphones because of their wider, flatter frequency response. The Pioneer DJ DDJ-RR feels slightly lighter than the DDJ-SR, though both have metal faceplates. It’s got a new black colour scheme that’s consistent with other DDJ-R series controllers. The rest of the enclosure is hard plastic, as is the case with most Pioneer DJ gear.
It ships with a power brick which increases the brightness of the lights, but you can power it with just a USB cable. You can also use it as a standalone mixer for connecting line / phono level devices to it like CDJs and turntables if you want to spin with actual CDs and vinyl.
There are two Needle Search touchstrips here and controls for Rekordbox DJ’s sequencer, which we’ll get to in a minute. The pads are also backlit RGB now, as is the case with more recent controllers.
